Take note(s), there’s a new old Zelda in town, and it’s better again
The Switch’s big open world Legend of Zelda games are back on the Switch 2. Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are making a big return to our headspaces with enhanced versions for Nintendo’s upcoming console.
Both BOTW and TOTK will feature Improved frame rates and resolution, faster load times & HDR support for better visuals overall. However, one of the coolest new features is called Zelda Notes. This addition to the Nintendo Switch mobile app (formerly Nintendo Switch Online app) will be specific to the Switch 2 versions of the games and will feature live maps, secrets, and even voice memories from Princess Zelda (and in TOTK from other characters). Voice navigation is being added in the app for accessibility.
With Tears of the Kingdom, players will be able to share their Autobuild creations using QR codes with other players. Come up with a cool idea? Send it out into the aether for all.

Also in the app, players will earn achievements based on “medals” and goals that can be taken on in game, and be able to collect items that are sent to them or via a daily free spin.

Svae Data from the originals will be carried over, and the ability to make two new manual save files is also added.

The games will launch separately on June 5 alongside the Switch 2 either as standalone games or as purchaseable upgrades (price not discolosed) for owners of the Switch versions. Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack subscribers will receive the upgrades for free.
