Street Fighter 6 and Tears of the Kingdom will bring more plastic figures to our tables soon
The amiibo craze had died down considerably over the last several years, and the last major releases were the Splatoon 3 splatfest set that popped up way back in September 2024. We were wondering if that meant that the little toys-to-life craze was finally over.
NOPE. We were wrong. Announced during the Switch 2’s reveal, there are are plenty more figures on the way, and from unlikely sources too.
While we already had an initial wave of Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom figures, there is a whole new set on the way, focusing on the companions from the game: Tulin, Yunobo, Sidon and Riju. These drop on June 5 alongside the Switch 2 (for now). Also on the way at a later date will be Mineru’s Construct. All of the Zelda amiibo will drop a paraglider cloth as well as items. The four initial amiibo will cost $19.99.

Surprisingly, Street Fighter 6 will also be utilizing amiibo. Not only are Super Smas Bros Ken & Ryu amiibo capable of being used in the game, but the publisher revealed that new amiibo are coming as well. Luke, Jamie, and Kimberly will be physical figures, and Capcom noted that 22 character amiibo cards will be available as well, all on June 5. Booster packs with more cards will be released in the future. The figures and cards will allow players to save button settings, call friends, and recieve “device wallpapers and frames”. The three figures will also give exclusive background music. The three amiibo will retail for $29.99 each. No price point is available for the cards.
My shelf (but not my wallet) is ready.
