Popular Switch games are getting updates for the Switch 2
Nintendo has sold A LOT of video games for the Switch, but that’s not stopping them from trying to sell a few more copies. During today’s Direct the company revealed that Switch 2 Editions of several existing Switch 1 games will feature enhancements, some free and some paid. We’ve detailed how Metroid, Pokemon and Zelda will make them jump, but there are plenty more.
Super Mario Party Jamboree brings several Switch 2 features and modes to the game, including mouse controls, audio recognition, and more expressive rumble. Utilization of the Switch 2 Camera will also be there, for those that like dancing and jumping in their rooms. In traditional Mario Party mode players can use a single camera to see each other’s faces in person or online. In Bowser Live, players will be featured on a sort of game show run by the King of the Koopas where the livelier team wins. It’ll feature a lot of energetic minig games, like using the camera to hit blocks, or driving an RC car with voice.

And lastly there is a specific Mouse mode that has players riding together in a coaster and point and shooting at things for scoring. The update releases on July 24th and will be a paid update.
Kirby is havimg a moment again. Not only is there a new Air Ride game on the way, but the excellent Forgotten Land is getting a Switch 2 Edition. This version will improve visuals, add GameShare, and a new story, Star-Crossed World, in which a meteor crashes into the Forgotten Land and Kirby and friends need to investigate. New “mouthful modes” are included in this paid upgrade.

As for free upgrades, there are a lot of them, and they all offer different things, from visual enhancements to controls.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will receive some much needed performance improvements that will hopefully make the game much more tolerable. That update will be free. Other games getting free updates include ARMS, Super Mario Odyssey, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Echoes of Wisdom, Link’s Awakening, New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, Super Mario™ 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, Clubhouse Games™: 51 Worldwide Classics, Game Builder Garage™, and Big Brain Academy™: Brain vs. Brain. More info and timing will be announced later.
