The next two new Spidey-films are a ways off
At the Cinemacon presentation tonight, Sony and Marvel finally gave us the dates and names of the next two Spider-man films!
Tom Holland returns in Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 31, 2026. This is set after Avengers: Doomsday, although it will tie in to the mega-film and its equally mega sequel, Secret Wars. Most notably, this takes place after everyone has already forgotten about Spider-Man — it’s quite literally an MCU world without him. Peter Parker is living his life away from those he loves, away from the suit, and away from the action. The moniker, Brand New Day, also finally drops the “Home” that’s been in each prior live action film in the series, and will likely be a sort of new beginning for the hero. Will we see Mile Morales there?
Well, we WILL see him in the next Spider-Verse film, Beyond the Spider-Verse, that now has a new release date. The long-delayed animated film (which was originally supposed to launch in 2024!) is hitting theaters on June 4, 2027. The previous film ends on a cliffhanger, so it’s time to see how the trilogy finally wraps up.
