Nintendo sending off the OG Switch with a final Direct tomorrow

Rest in Peace to our sweetest prince console with one last hurrah

Rumors had been swirling over the last three months or so about a mysterious final Nintendo Direct aimed strictly at the Nintendo Switch. It was to happen in January, then early February, then late February, then early March. With the Switch 2 Direct happening NEXT WEEK all hope had been lost.

But then it wasn’t! Then rumors flared up earlier this week that something may happen, that Nintendo may be crazy enough to do it. And they have.

Tomorrow, March 27 at 7AM PT/10AM ET Nintendo will be hosting a 30-minute long Direct focusing on the Switch 1. No Switch 2 games or info will be discussed, although you’ll probably be able to play all of these games on the new console.

Obviously Metroid Prime 4 will need to be discussed, since it’s the company’s next BIG game, so expect that to be a big chunk of time. But that also leaves space for rumored game drops and remakes. Lest we forget there was an online playtest late last year about some weird project.

Here’s what the rumor mill has been turning about for potential upcoming Switch games to be announced.

  • Kirby Planet Robobot remake
  • Fire Emblem remake
  • Zelda: Twilight Princess HD
  • Zelda: Wind Waker HD
  • Online Play Test thing

Now, here is what WE would like to see. We have zero vibes that any of these could happen, but we’d love it if they did.

  • Tomodachi Life
  • Punch-Out!
  • Star Fox Zero HD
  • Nintendo Land

What would you like to see for the Switch’s swan song?

You can watch the Direct above, on YouTube, or at Nintendo’s website.
