New planet and wild new psychic powers for Samus in latest Metroid game
During today’s Nintendo Direct, the Big N dropped a brand new trailer for Metroid Prime 4 Beyond with some VERY interesting details.
The game will take place on Planet Viewros as Samus has been called to the new location by an unknown force. She’s being referred to as the chosen one. The lush planet has plenty of new enemies, and the visual effects are almost too much for the aging platform because they look REALLY GOOD.
New to this Metroid game are Psychic abilities. Samus will be bestowed new powers that can operate mechanisms and open doors, and control trajectory of her beams with the power of her mind. Hmmm! But why? And why is there this talk about “bending space and time” and a sort of new beginning? Could this be a soft relaunch of the Metroid series?
Anyhoo, there’s a SMOKING cool brand new suit that our own J.J. calls Samus’s F1 suit, so expect us to use that forever now.
Interestingly enough, Nintendo didn’t give a date foe release, just a blank “2025.” Perhaps we’ll find out more next week at Nintendo’s Switch 2 direct.
