Pixel perfect power punches in the newest Marvel game
During today’s Nintendo Direct, Tribute Games and DotEmu revealed a new 2D fighting brawler project with retro visuals to follow up on their excellent TMNT Shredder’s Revenge. Marvel Cosmic Invasion rocks the nostalgic genre, featuring a visual style and fluid movement reminiscent ofthe best of the Marvel vs Capcom games.
The arcade brawler will focus on heroes taking on the galactic villain Annihilus, and a “Cosmic Swap” gameplay mechanic will allow players to choose two heroes at the beginning of a level and swap them back and forth at the touch of a button, creating combos and battle opportunities.
The pedigree behind the game is great, and so we have high expectations for the project. Expect Marvel Cosmic Invasion to arrive later in 2025 for Switch, Xbox Series, PlayStation and PC.
