The warrior’s quest of dragons continues in 2025
I absolutely love the Dragon Quest series. The classics, known as Dragon Warrior whenI first played them, were extremely formative to my gaming youth, and I’ve been lapping them up ever since. When Dragon Quest III HD2D arrived I loved it, placing it into my favorite games of the year. And with the announcement of the predecessors on the way getting the same HD2D treatment, I was ready.
And I’m even more ready now, as Squeenix dropped the first trailer for the I & II combo during today’s Nintendo Direct.
The package will tell the story of those first two games, in the brand new stunning visuals alongside orchestrated music and quality of life improvements. The trailer also teased something REALLY interesting: a new character. Just who this person is is unknown, and yet we can only imagine that it’ll tie into the story of the hero Erdrick and his line somehow.
Dragon Quest I & II HD2D remake arrives later this year for Switch, PC, Xbox and PS5.
