Bringing point clouds to vibrant life with the creatives behind PixelJunk

We’re all in for unique gaming experiences here at SideQuesting, so when Q-Games revealed Dreams of Another during Sony’s latest State of Play the majority of the team leaned right in to get a better look.

Color us impressed. Literally! Because Dreams has us sort of coloring everything in its world — with bullets. Kind of. In the game, players shoot their weapon not to destroy or kill but to create, giving life and identity to aspects of the world and environment as they traverse across it. The style itself revolves around point clouds, with game Director Baiyon (the PixelJunk series) using the aesthetic and its possibilities to evoke an almost dream-like state.

Hence, the name.

It’s not a typical action game, either, as the plot will unfold in an almost “poetic” style.

The project looks wild, and is more of an art piece than a traditional video game, but we’re definitely interested.

Dreams of Another is scheduled to arrive on PS5 with PSVR modes later this year.
