The Witcher 4 drops a glorious first CGI trailer

The IVitcher is back, and this time it’s Ciri!

At the Game Awards, CD Project Red dropped the first trailer for The Witcher IV. First announced almost three years ago, the game now focuses on Ciri taking over as the lead. She’ll have all of her power and might, and be able to wield a mean sword, as she takes on the monsters and demons and enemies of the world. In the trailer, we see Ciri trying to protect a girl who has been offered up as some kind of sacrifice, only to have things go horribly wrong in the end.

The cinematic trailer was rendered in an “unannounced NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU” but butilizes in-game assets to tell the short, self-contained story.

What role Geralt will have in the game, if any, us yet to be seen. However, this game is set to kick off a new trilogy in the series that will definitely take the Witcher to new places.

There is no timeframe or platform announced yet for the game, so don’t get your hopes up for some kind of 2025 surprise launch. It’ll be a while, friends!
