Sci-fi and fantasy worlds collide in the new game from Josef Fares and team
Hazelight Studios took to the Game Awards to reveal their next big project. Mio and Zoe are two writers, one focusing on Sci-fi and the other Fantasy works, who are vying for the publishing contract under a weird tech company. This company takes fictional works and creates simulated worlds to better vet out which one is their next great project — but when the two writers are accidentally thrust into each other’s simulations things get hairy.
The game will take place across both of their simulated worlds, and require players to work together to make it through. The Sci-fi world has hoverboards and space and light bikes and nanobots, while the Fantasy world has dragon-riding and magic and orbs of power. The unique worlds will have to be traversed differently, although from the looks of the trailer there may be some things that eventually start to work together.
Split Fiction is coming to Playstation, Xbox and PC on March 6, 2025.
