And Nintendo Switch Online, too!

You want a glimmer of hope on a NOVEMBER 5TH? Nintendo has chosen the best time to confirm that the Switch’s successor will be backwards compatible with the Nintendo Switch. The successor will also bring with it Nintendo Switch Online, so the multiplayer and all those retro games will be available.

The news comes via a social media post by Nintendo:

“This is Furukawa. At today’s Corporate Management Policy Briefing, we announced that Nintendo Switch software will also be playable on the successor to Nintendo Switch. Nintendo Switch Online will be available on the successor to Nintendo Switch as well. Further information about the successor to Nintendo Switch, including its compatibility with Nintendo Switch, will be announced at a later date.”

That should relieve many fans who are buying games and wondering if they’re going to be able to play them on the next console. More info is expected about the Switch 2 in the coming months.
