Saturday Geek Trailers: From Castlevania to Venom, and more

We can’t stop, won’t stop watching these new clips

It only just turned into Autumn (yuck! I miss Summer already!) and we’re already getting new trailers for shows and movies hitting all manner of screens throughout 2025. It’s cool to see the film industry output finally managing to come back to somewhat normal post-strike, which means that there are now almost too many things coming up to enjoy.

That’s a good problem to have, to be honest. Anyhoo, here are some of the newest trailers for upcoming movies and shows that have our eyes buggin!

Sony has dropped the final trailer for Venom: The Last Dance. With the film arriving later this month there are rumors hitting everywhere, so hopefully you can keep safe in media blackout until then.

Netflix’s Castlevania shows have been terrific, mixing great animation with drama, while actually doing a terrific service to the lore. Season 2 of Castlevania: Nocturne will pick up on the first season’s cliffhanger when it arrives in January.

Get ready to both bawl your eyes out and then celebrate loudly as Netflix is bringing The Remarkable Life of Ibelin to its service. The documentary tells the story of Mats Steen, a young man who died of a muscular degenerative disease. His family thought he was alone, but in reality he had made friends and become an integral part of a community in World of Warcraft. The film is supposed to hit “soon” an d we can’t wait.

In case you missed it, just a couple of days ago Netflix released the Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft animated series, so get more Lara in your life. Watch the release trailer to know if this is something for you.

While we wait for a new Splinter Cell game, Netflix is giving us Splinter Cell: Deathwatch. Yes, there’s no release date for this series either, but AT LEAST there’s something happening in that IP’s world.

The Devil May Cry series now has a release timeframe: April 2025. Oh! It also has a nifty teaser trailer (see below). It’s time for Dante to make a comeback to our screens.

Netflix continues its gaming push with a new Witcher animated film, Sirens of the Deep. In this film, Geralt will be tasked with protecting a village from evil goings-on. Joining the Doug Cockle-voiced Geralt will be Anya Chalotra reprising her role as Yennefer and Joey Batey back as Jaskier. The film premieres on February 11, 2025.

The stellar Arcane series will hit in three parts, on November 9, 16, and 23rd. The trailer for the second and final season is below, and looks faaaaantastic.

In Marvel news, Disney’s comic side dropped a big ole trailer/teaser for the upcoming Thunderbolts* film, coming May 2025. It’s going to be a year packed with MCU films in the lead up to the new Avengers stuff, so get ready for a lot of popcorn.

Sinners, the new film from Ryan Coogler (Black Panther) and starring Michael B Jordan (also Black Panther), looks fang-tastic. The film dives into Southern vampire lore and A LOT of fire. It hits theaters on March 7, 2025.

One film we’ve been looking forward to is Bong Joon Ho’s Mickey 17, an adaptation of Edward Ashton’s Mickey 7 book. It stars Robert Pattinson as a man who is cloned over and over to help prepare a planet for colonization. A new “Mickey” is created when the previous one dies, and as long as the two never overlap then all is well.

But this is a movie, and stuff happens and they interact, and hell breaks loose. The movie hits theaters January 2025.

Amazon’s Like a Dragon: Yakuza launches on Prime on October 24, and the new trailer is MIGHTY AWESOME. Set between two intersecting timelines, the show will tell the story of Kiryu and his rise. CANNOT WAIT.

Finally, The Last Of Us season 2 is hitting next year sometime and for the recent TLOU/Outbreak Day HBO Max decided to give us a trailer. THERE ARE A LOT OF CLICKERS. Get ready for tension as this season will begin adapting Last of Us 2.
