One of the last Wii U exclusives finally makies its return
Xenoblade Chronicles X was often considered a sort of impossible port to the Switch, mostly because of a very specific online element that focused on 32-player “squads” and asymmetric play. “It would be a lot of work!” has been the general response whenever that was brought up.
Well, that can’t be an excuse any more, because Nintendo has JUST revealed that Monolith Soft’s massive RPG is headed to Switch next year.
The game, set in the same “Xeno” verse as a sort of alternate story to the other games (there’s a whole meta, trust us), will arrive with enhanced visuals, audio, and whole new story content — stay to the end of the video for a tease. It’s been one of the games “trapped” on the platform, but now it’s set free in the final few months of the Switch’s life.
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition will land on Switch on March 20, 2025, joining an already packed first quarter that features the Donkey Kong Country Returns remaster and Metroid Prime 4. Maybe.
