Finally rising to heralded heights
Sony & Firewalk’s Concord recently launched to some absolutely abysmal sales and lack of players. It was so bad, in fact, that Sony used the Nuclear Option and actually pulled the game from sale, recalling product form all store shelves after just a few short days of launch.
IT WAS NOT A GOOD SIGHT.
Concord, the narrative-focused live service game that was Sony’s big first party release for the Summer, is supposedly being brought back in to figure out what to do with it, but the collective confidence of the games industry and fans is low. It’s so low that most don’t think the game will ever see the light of day again, causing resale of the game to hit spectacular heights. The game launched at $40, but sold eBay listings are regularly hitting over $130 and seeing no bottom.
Because estimates put total boxed sales at around 30k, this means that a first party product is now officially hard to find and an instant collector’s item.
Hey, if you have a copy you may have just kind of won a jackpot.
