They got us with this, didn’t they
The PlayStation is somehow 30 years old, which makes me really, really old. Sony loves to celebrate these milestones better than its rivals, and does so with special anniversary editions of its platforms. The 20th Anniversary edition of the PS4 was a snazzy looking gray device, and now the manufacturer has decided to do something similar to celebrate the 30th birthday.
The PlayStation 30th Anniversary Collection has been revealed, showing a bunch of EXTREMELY COOL variations to current PlayStation products. The PS5 and PS5 Pro receive a snazzy lite & medium gray colorway, and include stands, PlayStation stickers, cable ties, a neat-but-probably-unusable paperclip and a DOPE USB cable connecter in the shape of the original PlayStation controller cable port.
There are also controllers coming in that colorway. The PlayStation Portal, the DualSense, and the DualSense edge are all hitting the gray, and add in nice PlayStation symbol textures all over.
It’s a great-looking collection, honestly. The collection launches on November 21st, with preorders hitting September 26 on PlayStation’s website. The PS5 Pro version will be limited to 12,300, so scalpers rejoice!
