Now just a shadow of its original release date
After pulling its Tokyo Game Show livestream plans, and cancelling/postponing preview sessions, Ubisoft has announced that it is officially delaying Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The game, which was originally set to launch on November 15, 2024, is now launching three months later on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2025.
Ubisoft cites the need for polishing the game further, especially after the issues with the recently released Star Wars Outlaws during its launch. Hopefully the bugs will be better squashed by then. Ubi also notes that the game will now also arrive on Steam on Day 1, which should make plenty of fans happy, as well as finally dumping the whole Season Pass idea and dropping in content for preorders instead.
This is the biggest delay yet announced for this coming holiday shopping season, as publishers are clearly trying to avoid clashing with the hotly anticipated MySims Cozy Bundle that launches on November 19th.
Clearly.
