Sandworms and spice and everything nice
I had the pleasure of checking out Dune: Awakening back at Summer Game Fest earlier this Summer and came away wanting to join up with some factions and steal some spice. I had to explain what I saw through text, because the gameplay hadn’t been shown to the public much yet.
During Gamescom’s Opening Night Live today, Funcom shared a gameplay reveal that showcases how players will create their character, meet others and join factions, and even build an ornithopter. Base building and mining made an appearance, as did battling and a bunch of other aspects of the game’s alternate history.
It all still looks really, really cool.
The survival MMO has a release timeframe now as well, with early 2025 targeted for a launch date for PC and later for Xbox and PS5. Sign us up for the trip to Arrakis!
