Castlevania, Suikoden and Capcom feature in new collections

From Power Stones to DS thrones, great new game collections announced

During the Nintendo Direct today, several retro game collections were featured — and we’re all about having our nostalgia tickled.

We’ve loved the Castlevania collections thus far, so when Konami revealed the Castlevania Dominus Collection we flipped our lids. The collection bundles together three of the Nintendo DS Castlevania games (Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia) alongside a remake of Haunted Castle, known as Revisited. The DS games initially featured touch controls but will now focus on buttons to achieve things like spells and runes, and were fantastic on the portable platform. As good as they are, we’re probably more excited about the Haunted Castle remake as it takes the classic arcade game and injects a whole host of modern touches and visuals to it.

The Castlevania Dominus Collection arrives on Switch, PS5, Xbox Series and PC (Steam) today.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 has been announced for platforms, and ties in the SNK collabs, Alpha 3 UPPER, and even Power Stone. The original CFC is a great way to play some of Capcom’s best niche fighting games, and this latest edition packs in some of the most demanded 2D and 3D fighting games that the company has — we’re still holding out hope for Tatsunoko vs Capcom to return.

Either way, this is a fantastic collection for fans. It hits PS4, Switch and Steam in 2025. Here are the games included:

  • Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 Pro
  • Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001
  • Capcom Fighting Evolution
  • Street Fighter Alpha 3 UPPER
  • Project Justice
  • Power Stone
  • Power Stone 2
  • Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein

Capcom also announced a September release date for its Marvel vs Capcom collection. Hey, that’s next month!

One collection we’ve been waiting for for a long time is the Suikoden I & II HD Remaster(s). The games were initially supposed to come out in 2022, but kept getting delayed into oblivion. During today’s Direct we were treated to a new trailer and a more firm release date: March 6, 2025.
