Assassin’s Creed Shadows looks glorious in new gameplay trailer

Yas(uke) it looks great, and Naoe-way we’re not going to miss out

Assassin’s Creed Shadows looks like it finally, finally takes the series back to its Black Flag levels of quality. I know, I know: bold words from a dude who’s only played a few hours of each AssCreed game along its series lifeline. But listen, the gameplay trailer looks greaaaaaaat.

Ubisoft released the nearly 13-minute “extended gameplay walkthrough” during its Ubisoft Forward event this week, and gave a glimpse at the dual play styles of Yasuke and Naoe. The brutality of the Samurai and the stealth of the assassin are showcased against the backdrop of a 16th century Japan that’s barreling towards war with itself.

For those of us who just finished the incredible Shogun and Blue Eyed Samurai series, the timing couldn’t be better for the setting and characters and action — and the intertwined stories.

Assassin’s Creed: Shadows arrives on PS5, Xbox series, Mac, iPad, Luna and PC on November 15, 2024.
