A fun, quirky, and completely chill undersea adventure
Farming games are great, but you know what might be better? Farming UNDERWATER. That’s what I found out when I played Loddlenaut, the newest project from developer Moon Lagoon. It’s a cozy style game, as cozy as being underwater can be, but with the added twist of cultivating little creatures known as loddles.
The whole premise of the game is to sort of be the custodian for a planet’s ocean environment, both cleaning and discovering portions of the sea while rescuing the loddles. There’s not a whole ton of development, with only a few types of materials we need to interact with and ways to clean, and minimal crafting to enhance stuff. There’s a defined beginning and end to a bite-size experience that guides us, with finite stuff to clean and pick up, and that’s fine.
The whole point is to just enjoy the vibe, and I enjoyed the vibe.
