Run, hide, throw out a flare, die
When we think of Jurassic Park video games of the past, the usual take revolves around riding Jeeps and shooting T-Rexes. Big guns! Roar! Pew pew!
But have you seen the size of Dinosaurs, and their TEETH?
We gotta hid from these things, or run. RUN FAST.
That’s basically the premise behind Jurassic Park: Survival, Saber Interactive’s new game based on the massive movie franchise. It’s easiest to describe the game by calling back to that one scene where Lex and Tim are trapped in the kitchen as raptors try and play hide ‘n eat. It’s terrifying, and many a moviegoer remembers clutching their chairs or biting their fingers off as the kids tried to survive and escape. So, when Saber said “let’s turn THAT into a full game” it seemed like the perfect idea.
The project was announced during the Game Awards with a bold trailer that mimics that scene and goes even further — to much squealing delight of many of us on SideQuesting’s staff. The single-player experience will let players run around the island of Isla Nebular trying to avoid being gobbled up.
There’s no release date for the game, but it’ll hit PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC whenever it arrives.
