More movies and TV shows on the way to fill our eyeballs

It’s going to be a busy few months coming up, not just because it’s the holiday season but also because of a whole feast of geek things on the way. And with the strikes over and Hollywood ramping back up, we can expect a fast and furious release schedule now after things have been re-adjusted. With that said, here are a bunch of things that have been announced and updated over the last few weeks we’re excited about. Cool stuff, ahoy!

Avatar: The Last Airbender‘s live action series is hitting Netflix on February 22, 2024.

3 Body Problem brings mind-bending, time-warping sci-fi to the streamer in March of 2024. Based on the best-selling book, it focuses on a story that starts in 1960s China and unravels in the present. It’s from DB Weiss and David Benioff, of Game of Thrones fame.

Arcane, the excellent League of Legends TV show spin-off thing, is confirmed with a date for another trip. The second season hits Netflix in November 2024.

There’s a new Witcher animated special on the way. The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep will focus on a mission that goes sideways for Geralt, who will be voiced in this Doug Cockle. Cockle voices the character in the video games, and with the live-action series not coming back for a new season this looks like a nice short story to tide us over when it drops late in 2024.

Love or hate Zack Snyder, getting dissed by Disney for a Star Wars film may have proven to be the best thing for him, as it gave the Director the opportunity to build his own sci-fi universe with his upcoming Rebel Moon films. The first part is due on Netflix on December 22nd, just before Christmas, and the official trailer looks just great.

DC has a couple of big features coming next month. The first is an animated special. Merry Little Batman is a holiday-themed silly cartoon that looks like loads of fun. It hits Prime on December 8th.

The other big DC fare is Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The film, the final of the DCEU before James Gunn’s DCverse takes over, brings a more family-focused plot to the series. There’s an Aquababy, Black Manta’s return, and some ancient entity that’s probably a bad guy. Who knows! The film hits theaters just before Christmas.

Speaking of comic books, Marvel continues its MCU with the second season of What If? The series returns on December 22nd on D+, and episodes will drop daily through December 30th.

Finally, Sony’s Spider-verse continues with Madame Web. The movie will bring together a host of new characters, all of which are spider-themed, and focuses on Dakota Johnson’s clairvoyant Cassandra Webb alongside two Spider-Women, Spider-girl, and Ezekiel Sims. It hits theaters on February 14th.
