REVOLUTIONARY PEACH COMETH
Princess Peach’s upcoming game finally has some details. First revealed back in the non-E3 era of June, the game has been given a final name and a release date. Princess Peach: Showtime! will hit the Switch on March 22, 2024.
The game puts the princess in charge of saving a stage show from being taken over by an evil force run by Grape and the Sour Bunch. Get it Grape? Because her name is Peach?
Anyhoo.
The game has Peach swapping out costumes to change her skillsets, sometimes drastically, to save the Sparkle Theatre and her friends. In the trailer she dons a sword and hat and jabs way in a more traditional platformer, or puts on a Kung Fu outfit to take battles in a fighting game path, or even wears a detective outfit to find clues and solve puzzles. Peach can use the outfits to figure out the best way out of (or into) the situations she’s thrust in. The idea seems cool, especially if the different jobs really do work tangentially and allow for unique solutions to the action.
