Delay of Game: release dates announced, release dates shifted for small and big games this year

Sonic Superstars, Hyper Light Breaker and Alan Wake 2 lead release date announcements and changes

It’s again the season when we start hearing about end of the year delays. While it’s a normal occurrence for companies to regrettably push their games out of the coveted holiday season, this year is especially wild.

OCTOBER.

I’ve never been more afraid of the Spooky Month, but this year seems like it will especially terrify my wallet — and the bottom lines of many developers and publishers.

Here’s a list of some of the games we’re looking forward to that are shifting around, some later into the year and some into next all together, as well as brand new release dates that further complicate our dwindling free time.

Game Delays

Alan Wake 2 realized that October 17 is falling in kind of a monster week, so they’ve taking a VERY SMART shift of the game towards the end of the month to October 27. The new trailer above looks good, too!

And finally, we’ve gotten some release dates for games popping up this year and next, finally! The one you’ve all been looking forward to, Sonic Superstars, decided to take up Alan Wake II‘s spot and drop on October 17. That’s, uh, just 3 days before Super Mario Wonder? Sonic, what are you thinking. Well, we have a new trailer, at least.
