First person combat and spellcasting shine in gameplay trailer
Obsidian Entertainment’s Avowed has finally shown off its first bit of gameplay. During the Xbox Games Showcase the developer gave a glimpse at its much-anticipated role playing game with a little bit of story and a little bit of infected-bear killing action.
Billed as an first person RPG set in the Pillars of Eternity universe, the game focuses on the island of the Living Lands, which has flora and fauna unique to its domain. There’s been an outbreak of SOME KIND OF PLAGUE and it’s making everything — and everyone — try to eat us. Or kill us. Whatever comes first. Combat allows us to use swords, magic, shields, and dual wield all of those as we take on whatever enemy comes our way. It looks very old-school, by design, and we kinda love it.
Avowed is set to launch in 2024 exclusively on Xbox Series, PC and Game Pass.
