Bayonetta prequel taking a unique direction to the series
Bayonetta 3 is quickly becoming one of our favorite games of the year, and now PlatinumGames isn’t resting while the game’s still bathing in its success. The company used this year’s Game Awards to reveal that a prequel is in the works, Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon. The game will take an isometric viewpoint to the series and track alongside Cereza and her first demon, Cheshire, as they develop their umbra witch powers.
“Turn back the pages of the Umbra Witch’s story to learn where it all began. Take control of Cereza and her first demon Cheshire to fend off faeries and solve puzzles when Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon releases March 17, 2023 only on Nintendo Switch.”
The game will be released both digitally and physically on Switch in 2023.
