Tony Stark finally making a return to a solo game
There have been a few Iron Man games throughout the last few decades: some were developed by SEGA to coincide with the MCU films (they were bad!) and others were created with strange crossovers, like with X-O Manowar in 1996, also pretty bad! There was a GBA game (that was surprisingly OKAY!) and even a VR outing in 2020 for PSVR (also kind of OKAY!) but none of them really ever struck a chord.
That may be set to change.
After SideQuesting Pal Jeff Grubb first brought up the project many moons ago, Electronic Arts has revealed that yes, it is indeed working on a AAA Iron Man game. The solo adventure follows the more recent trend of big gaming licenses based on comics, with Sony’s Spider-man series doing well, a recently announced Wolverine game, and a Wonder Woman game that will arrive… some day. Iron Man has some good chops behind it, as it’s being developed by EA’s Motive Studio, the dev outfit behind the upcoming Dead Space remake.
There really is no other news on the game — no release date, platforms, plot, etc — but with Dead Space about to launch in January, Motive will be full throttle on the Man Who Beat Thanos.
