SDCC is here! And some of the first announcements and trailer have arrived to give us some great looks at… dragons! And werewolves?

Yup! Pop culture.

Anyhoo, some of the first trailers we’re excited about show us a few of our favorite properties brought to life (again). The next Game of Thrones series is House of the Dragon, and though we’ve covered it in the past, there’s a brand new, full, glorious trailer that finally gives us insight into the show’s premise — the Targaryen war of succession.

The show arrives at the end of August on HBO Max.

War is in the air with the upcoming LOTR prequel at Amazon. The Rings of Power finally shows off its full, full, FULL trailer. It arrives in September on Prime.

Up next is the OG of modern dragon-related media, Dungeons & Dragons. The property is getting its first motion picture version in a while, after previous attempts. The new spin on D&D takes a Guardians of the Galaxy approach to fantasy teams, featuring Chris Pine as the lead. Another Chris! Leading! D&D: Honor Among Thieves arrives March 2023.

And while it’s not dragon-based, there is another supernatural TV show popping into our eyeballs. The Teen Wolf show’s movie is on the way, and they’ve finally dropped a teaser for it. Some of the cast of the series is back, and it looks like a whole lot of the show’s evil is too. Look for it “streaming soon” on Paramount+.
