COCOON looks real good, y’all

COCOON looks real good, y’all

I want you all to consider what I am about to suggest to you

Imagine a world, within a world. A world where you would be students, of course, but also teachers. A world where we explore other worlds, and find their connections, solving a great mystery between them all. And a world in which Wilford Brimley *was right* and we are meant to live forever.

This is COCOON, the game based on the 80s Wilford Brimley movie of the same name.

COCOON, by Geometric Interactive and Annapurna Interactive, is an action adventure puzzle game where players take on the role of Brimley’s character Ben Luckett as he must unravel the many interconnected orb-like worlds in order to save his youth. Players zoom into and out of the different worlds, solving puzzles in one that may affect those in another, and defeating guardians that block their path forward. Each world is unique, with its own biome and set of solutions, so that the connections between them all become both deep and meaningful.

And as Brimley’s Luckett makes his way through, more and more Antareans are revealed to help him on his way.

Wait, wait… what? It’s not based on that movie? Wilford Brimley is not in this game? But the game still looks amazing and intriguing and features interconnected worlds and orbs and puzzles?

Okay, fine, we’re still in.

COCOON is being developed by LIMBO & INSIDE‘s creative mastermind Jeppe Carlsen and Jakob Schmid, whose 140 is a critically-acclaimed experience. It’s due in 2023 for Switch, Xbox, Game Pass, and PC Steam.
