Arrives sly like a fox onto Xbox platforms
Tunic has been in development for a long, long time. In fact, it had already been in development long before we first saw it in 2017, at Xbox’s E3 (remember that?) showcase. The action-adventure game charmed us back then, though we never really got a chance to go hands on all that much over the years.
In a surprise move, the game has launched on Xbox and Game Pass today.
Tunic is purposefully deceiving, starring a cute fox surrounded by a nostalgic design aesthetic. But that cuteness stops there, as the game actually mixes in some of the more challenging elements of modern RPGs like Dark Souls. The world is full of secrets, many of which are only found by experimenting and exploring, or by finding pieces of an in-game manual (also remember those?) that harkens back to the 80s & 90s and includes hints and tips for the game.
Game development company Finji stepped in to help solo developer Andrew Shouldice publish the game, which is available TODAY on Xbox platforms, and Game Pass on console and PC.
