No one cares about mega mergers now that we have mecha management
Ha ha ha, what the fudge?! The biggest surprise of Nintendo’s latest Direct presnetation wasn’t that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 or Mario Strikers games are on the way. Nay nay. It was the supernovae inducing news about the return of Front Mission and the first official LIVE A LIVE western release.
Holy heck! It’s happening dot GIF!
LIVE A LIVE, an RPG that hasn’t been legally seen on these shores since its 1994 Japanese release, is being handled by the amazing team behind Octopath Traveler and the upcoming Triangle Strategy games, and will utilize the HD-2D style that we loooove. LIVE A LIVE follows seven protagonists across different time periods, from feudal Japan to the far future, and an intricate story that weaves them all together. The game launches July 22 exclusively on the Switch.
Not only did we get that, but we were ALSO treated to the news of remakes of the classic Front Mission games! Front Mission 1st: Remake follows a team of mech riders as they take on a world-spanning story in tactical JRPG stylings. The game first appeared on the SNES in 1995, with a DS port in 2007. This remake will utilize all new visuals (with some retro tints!) and some awesome camera-shift in the overworld to make it feel like we’re playing with toys. DOPE.
The game will launch this Summer exclusively on the Switch, with Front Mission 2nd: Remake announced as well, arriving sometime later.
No one even remembers anything from the last few weeks after these megatons!
