The furious soccer series storms back
During its Nintendo Direct today, the company revealed a return to the amazing Mario Strikers series. Battle League will bring back the bangin’ 5v5 super soccer game. This game is an over-the-top furious arcade-like experience that throws players around a field with items and explosions — and goals.
In the new iteration, players can customize some of the traits of their characters, kits, and more using the new gear system. Grabbing one of the on-field orbs will give players Hyper Strike power that will score two goals at once. Items land on the field for more peril and can be used to stun and take out opponents.
The real sauce of the game will be its multiplayer modes.
Up to 8 players can go 4v4 on one Switch in local play, with online bringing a new “Club” system. The Club brings up to 20 players together to bring up their squad on online matches, hoping to best their opponents and become the top club in the world.
