The blocky reimagining of the entire saga hits consoles in Spring
The oft-delayed LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga finally has a firm(ish) release date. WB Games has announced that the game will arrive to platforms on April 5th of this year. Rey, Kylo, Finn, and Poe are now playable in the same LEGO adventure as Yoda, Mace Windu, and that little punk kid who pilots pod racers. The game spans the entirety of the Skywalker saga, embedding the usual LEGO humor and charm within.
At first, players will be able to kick off each of the trilogies separately; in other words you won’t be able to play Episode VII and then hop into Empire and then Attack of the Clones, you’ll have to play the games in each trilogy sequentially. New combos, blaster controls, and cover mechanics come to the LEGO series to bring it up to date with modern gaming. Space dogfights, speeder-bikes, and even planet hopping are included, allowing players to unlock worlds that they can travel to between main story missions. A Free Play Mode even unlocks 300 characters to played around the entire saga.
WB Games has detailed more information in the gameplay video above, if you feel like burning a morning while you drink your coffee.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga arrives on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms on April 5, 2022.
