Ubisoft reveals big Assassin’s Creed DLC plans

From crossovers to massive new stories, Ubisoft is giving assassins a lot to do

Ubisoft has revealed a massive new undertaking for the second season of its Assassin’s Creed Valhalla game’s DLC. The first is “Crossover Stories,” a two-part adventure that brings Odyssey‘s Kassandra and Valhalla‘s Eivor together into a story that has them exploring more of their own journeys. New islands and quests will become available, as the characters forge an uneasy alliance. The two-part free DLC will actually arrive in the three year old game Assassin’s Creed Odyssey as Those Who Are Treasured and then in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla with A Fated Encounter. The crossover is available starting today across all platforms, and a free play weekend for Odyssey takes place from the 16th-19th to let players experience Kassandra’s story.

Ubisoft followed up that news with the announcement of the biggest single piece of DLC in the series yet.

In Dawn of Ragnarök, players will actually take control of the great Norse god Odin as he searches for his son Baldr and takes on the malevolent Surtr. This isn’t the first time the game has gone into mythology, but with over 30+ hours of gameplay included the DLC may actually feel like its own, completely contained experience. Odin will have to find and partner with the dwarves as they grant him different weapons and tools on his quest. There will even be a fighting arena to kill some time (and opponents) in.

The massive Dawn of Ragnarök will launch March 10, 2022.
