It’s about Nicolas Cage doing Nicolas cage shit
There are few movies out there that Nicolas Cage is in that aren’t Oscar-worthy. Every role he’s in is deemed iconic, every performance is masterful, every audience reaction is one of love. So what happens when all of that fades away?
In his upcoming moving The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, Nicolas Cage plays a FICTIONALIZED version of Nicolas Cage where this sort of thing happens. We need to emphasize FICTIONALIZED because Nicolas Cage doesn’t fail, Nicolas Cage doesn’t “slow down,” Nicolas Cage doesn’t give up. He just endures as Nicolas Cage. In this film, though, Nicolas Cage does the opposite, and shows us what happens when the world’s biggest Nicolas Cage fan seeks out the bored FICTIONALIZED version of Nicolas Cage in hopes of befriending (and maybe becoming?) Nicolas Cage.
It looks like a masterpiece, like the Breath of the Wild of Nicolas Cage movies.
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent starring Nicolas Cage as Nicolas Cage (and also starring Pedro Pascal and Tiffany Haddish, who are somehow NOT played by Nicolas Cage) opens in Nicolas Cage approved theaters on April 22, 2022.
