Music game developer to join Epic’s growing stable of studios
Harmonix Music Systems, the developer behind so many of our favorite music rhythm games, has a new boss: Epic Games. The Tencent-owned behemoth has announced that it has acquired the Massachusetts-based dev for an undisclosed amount of money.
Harmonix will continue to support Rock Band 4 and Fuser, while becoming the go-to company behind Fortnite’s music endeavors. So, the next time you see Travis Scott in the middle of a giant floating island while wearing your hot dog suit, you can feel safe knowing the Metaverse is in good (musical) hands.
