Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas coming to VR

Classic game comes to Oculus, or Meta, or whatever it’s called now

Fresh off of the news about the upcoming Trilogy release, Rockstar Games have announced that its stalwart game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will be making the jump to yet another platform. During this week’s Facebook/Meta launch event, the developer revealed that the game will hit the Oculus (now known as Meta) Quest.

“Today at Connect, we announced that the Rockstar Games classic Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is in development for Quest 2. Get a new perspective on Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas as you experience (again or for the first time) one of gaming’s most iconic open worlds. This is a project many years in the making, and we can’t wait to show you more of it.”

There’s no release date for the project, but it comes on the heels of Facebook’s — sorry, META’s — push to get some big (old) games onto its VR platform. Resident Evil 4 VR is receiving a good response from fans, and with San Andreas the next announced title owners can be optimistic that it won’t be the last.
