Remember the Matrix? Neo doesn’t!

The premise behind the upcoming Matrix Resurrections is that Neo has somehow forgotten the Matrix. The One, after having spent years fighting a revolution against the machines that governed the world around him, seems to be stuck in the virtual world without knowing he’s there. In fact, he’s forgotten his past teammates, friends, enemies, and even KUNG FU(?!), leading him to journey to understand why his own existence is somehow out of place.

That’s all revealed in this first trailer, and it’s a doozy of information coming at us all at once. Breathtaking!

Directed by Lana Wachowski, The Matrix Resurrections lands in theaters and HBO Max on December 22, 2021.
