Sony’s premiere racing game finally comes to the starting line
Kazunori Yamauchi, President of developer Polyphony Digital, describes Gran Turismo 7 as both a culmination of the series and an homage to the legacy of 150 years of car culture. more details about the ambitious racing game were revealed today at Sony’s PlayStation Showcase 2021 event, including the return of the fan-favorite Campaign Mode. The mode will have fans racing around the world as they build their legacy and experience the heritage of culture of cars along the way.
Livery customization and legendary tracks make a return, with new user interfaces and higher detail. And, with car collecting so important to the series, the traditional “garage” has been remade into a sort of cafe that guides players through the history and impact of specific sets of vehicles. HDR photography and updates to the time & weather systems are also included, allowing players to take virtual photographs of their car collections across a variety of landscapes.
Gran Turismo 7 is due for PS5 and PS4 on March 4, 2022.
