The next big chunk of narrative content arrives in 2022
The long game for Destiny 2’s biggest narrative arc hasn’t necessarily gone according to plan, with pandemic related delays and general development planning adjustments forcing changes. The Witch Queen, the next giant chunk of narrative-related DLC, was originally and aggressively planned for 2021, but now has an updated launch date.
Arriving February 22, 2022, The Witch Queen expansion will take players to Savathûn’s Throne World to find out how she “stole the light.” The content will also introduce a new glaive weapon, as well as weapon crafting. The Queen has been rumored within the series for years, and now makes her terrifying reveal.
This year, Bungie will also celebrate their 30th anniversary, featuring a slew of activities in December such as a dungeon within a classic Destiny loot cave and the return of the Gjallarhorn weapon. Destiny fans rejoice!
