Take our Breath away
We’ll have to wait just a little bit longer for the next Zelda game, but the development sure looks like it’s taking Link to bold new places.
Or, heights. The game seems to ties into Skyward Sword, which is getting an HD remaster in July. In the trailer revealed during Nintendo’s E3 2021 Direct, the developers talked about where Link will go. The setting has expanded to now include the skies above Hyrule, with floating islands and locations that will let Link launch from to land back down to the ground.
New perils include moving Bokoblin camps (on the backs of Talus beasts), monsters, and Guardians. New abilities will become available to Link as he traverses the world, from the ability to “link” metallic objects together for a domino effect of damage to transforming into water and moving through walls & cliffs.
The sequel to the Breath of the Wild will launch in 2022.
