Fight alongside the Autobots to protect Earth
The Niantic team isn’t slowing down after the massive success of Pokemon Go and its release of Harry Potter. Already having announced more projects in the works with Nintendo (Pikmin!) the company has now revealed its next project, Transformers: Heavy Metal.
The game will have a familiar function to previous Niantic games, in which players will go out into the real world to carry out missions. In this case, they’ll do so alongside famous Transformers characters like Bumblebee and Wheeljack. The depth and composition of the missions is unknown, but it’s probably safe to assume that the Decepticons will be involved somehow.
Transformers: Heavy Metal is being developed by Seattle-based Very Very Spaceship with plans to launch on mobile devices this year. A registration is now open.
