Brady and Mahomes are the Madden NFL 22 cover stars

The annual football game will release August 20

We haven’t heard much of a peep out of EA over the last few months in relation to their big annual sports games, but with the NFL’s training camp about to kick off the company took the time to reveal crucial new Madden info. Notably, the publisher anointed the game’s cover star(s): Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady.

The two teams met in the Super Bowl this year, and are considered the GOATs of the game, both on the way out and on the way in. Brady won their latest battle and took home the NFL’s most recent championship, but the two will surely battle again, at least digitally if not physically. For the first time since Madden 2010, two athletes will be on the cover, with both Mahomes and Brady marking multiple times as cover stars.

The game will feature tweaks and updates for the last generation (PS4 & Xbox One) but include new features for current gen consoles (PS5 & Xbox Series), PC, and Stadia. Dynamic Gameday will be an AI-driven focus on the tendencies and real life stats of players in the NFL, as well as the atmosphere of home and away games. Next Gen Player Movement will make the motion, blitzes and breaks of the athletes even more realistic and in tune with the field and players around them.

Madden 22 launches in regular, MVP, and Dynasty editions on August 20th.
