PlatinumGames’ next big action game game will feature online co-op
Babylon’s Fall, the upcoming Square Enix PS4 and Steam game, has been missing in action since its first reveal three years ago. Initially designed for PS4 and PC, the game will now also be adding a PS5 version as well.
Designed as an online, live-service co-op action game, Babylon’s Fall tasks players with making their way to and ascending the Tower of Babylon in hopes of revealing a great “legacy” inside. The action looks in line with developer PlatinumGames’ other products, like Bayonetta and Astral Chain, in which combo-based battles with monsters and giant bosses take place across expansive environments. Players will be bonded with special equipment known as Gideon Coffins, which when paired will allow them to equip up to four weapons for some wild combo-based attacks.
The game’s fantasy setting is amplified by the choice of visual design aesthetic, which Square Enix calls a “brushwork style” that mimics medieval oil paintings.
There is no release date for the game yet, but a BETA is due this Summer.
