Ubisoft reveals a plan to support the game for two years
Previous Assassin’s Creed games usually had a few month’s worth of content. The game would release in the Fall, and by the following Spring we’d already be looking at teasers for the next game in the series. Things are changing at Ubisoft, as they’re looking to reflect how modern gaming is pivoting towards living experiences and long-term plans for products. With Valhalla, the company has revealed that it will support the game for at least two years. With all of its features, players have likely sunk more time into the game than with any prior in the series — it definitely feels like a departure from previous expeditions. Now, DLC and content have been revealed that will keep fans coming back.
Two specific pieces were focused on: the previously announced Siege of Paris expansions and the Discovery Mode. The latter is a popular feature within the series’ last few games, allowing fans to enjoy the scenery and characters without falling in battle. The Siege DLC will send the Viking crew to a new land with new gear and missions. The Siege mode arrives this Summer, while Discovery in the Fall.
But the real pearl was the tease for 2022’s plans. The mythical realm of Muspelheim has been rumored for some time now, and thanks to a few datamine leaks it appears to be coming next year. Ubi’s teaser certainly insinuates that we’ll have a hell of a journey there, at least.
