There’s no time like the prescient
Whelp — well, 2020 was a year, and 2021 hasn’t been any better. All we have left are either to look towards the future, or remember the past. What we value about our pasts, though, is different for everyone, but the upcoming game Hindsight, from Annapurna Interactive and developer Joel MacDonald, explores the power that even the smallest moments can have.
Hindsight stars a woman returning to her childhood home and coming across items from her past. The narrative adventure game will delve into her connection to those items, and how they seem to open specific and sometimes poignant memories about events in her life.
The idea is intriguing, showing the value of our lives as complete collections of events instead of and specific singular defining moment. If the first trailer has anything to reveal, expect plenty of emotional gut punches when Hindsight launches on Switch and PC later this year.
