Vokabulantis is a stunning looking stop motion video game

Upcoming project hits Kickstarter

Vokabulantis, the new project from developer Kong Orange, is an intriguing upcoming stop-motion game. It’s being billed as a co-op love story, in which players control two characters across a 2D platforming world. Karla and Kurt are two friends who are about to hold hands for the first time. The awkwardness of the moment causes their mouths to fly off, and so they’ll need to journey together to recover them, all while taking on word- and grammar-based enemies and worlds.

The stop-motion effect is in part thanks to the animators at Wired Fly Animation and the poet/artist Morten Søndergaard, who have collaborated to create the world. The video trailer showcases some of the cutscenes and 2D platforming, as well as the development process for the models and animation.

Vokabulantis is now on Kickstarter with a goal of $83k/€70k and to launch on PC and consoles sometime in the future.
