New features for the next Pokémon game focus on the photography
It’s 2021, so any game that has a focus on photography definitely needs to incorporate Instagram features in some way. That’s seemingly what New Pokémon Snap looks like it’s doing, according to today’s Pokémon Presents video.
The upcoming game, which tasks players with taking photos of Pokémon, will also involve a sort of 4-star rating system within the game, which translates to specific types/rarity of photographs that need to be taken. Players can toss some fruit at a monster for one reaction, or catch the beast in a different setting interacting with another animal, or sneak up on them — the plethora of ‘Mon means that each have different personalities and requirements to grab the photos, which fill out the “Photodex” in the game.
Photos can also be edited with notes, colors, and more, and can be shared online within the game to rack up likes. The online ranking system will feature photos that get the most likes, for those of us that need our dopamine hit in yet another way.
New Pokémon Snap arrives April 30th on Switch.
