The new combo is the first time the Switch itself will have a colored enclosure
Nintendo has revealed a brand new color variation of its Switch console hybrid. Up until now, the company focused mostly on its removable Joy-Con colors coupled with etched black-on-black variants of the console. The Stitch Lite has been available in a few tints, but the main OG console? Nope.
Until now, that is. Nintendo is launching the Mario Red & Blue Edition of the Big Kid in the continued celebration of Super Mario Bros 35th anniversary. The console will eschew its typical black hardware case for a red one, similar to what the company did with a red Wii during the New Super Mario Bros days. The Switch will also include a red dock, two red Joy-Cons, a red storage case with Mario graphics, blue straps and Joy-Con clips, and a blue Joy-Con controller grip.
The console color variant will be available on February 12 alongside the launch of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury.
